Commemorating the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, August 6 and 9, 1945, this event is dedicated to the abolition of nuclear weapons, a threat to all humanity.
This event will be held at St John's Lutheran Church, 1701 L St., Sacramento, from 3 to 4:30 pm. Doors open to the public at 2:45.
Parking: Some parking is available in the church lot; street parking is free on Sundays; and there is ample free garage parking courtesy St. John's on 18th & K (enter on K street).
- Former Mayor Anne Rudin reading the peace declaration of the Mayor of Hiroshima
- Music by Small Difference, a Woman’s Choral Ensemble singing for peace and justice
- The story of Sadako and the Thousand Cranes;
- Ideas for action, presented by Harry Wang, president of Physicians for Social Responsibility, Sacramento Chapter.
